Dual 701 I have a 701 with a Shure V15 and I thoroughly enjoy it. I had a 721 a while back and it was destroyed by UPS in shipping to Joel(turntable factory) in South Carolina for repair. I mean completely destroyed. I think they may have run over it a couple of times in transit. Joel felt sorry for me and substituted the 701 and I really like it.

The best place to start though is to reseat the plugs. It could be something as simple as corrosion on pin 3 or 4 of BR 02. Look on the picture of the control board in the upper right hand corner and you will see BR 02. Gently remove it from the board and reinstall it. Then try it and see what happens.

I have a Dual CS 415-2 Turntable with missing power pack. This model features external power pack rather than onboard. I listened to a video on power packs. It was indicated that with mA/A values, there is a pull rather than a push. If the power pack has greater mA/A than the end device requirement, the device will only pull what is required.
All the Dual turntables I’ve reviewed recently have been visions in black—attractive in their own Teutonic way. The same could be said of the CS 618Q, which is available in three finishes. Priced at $1099.99 (all prices in USD), the standard version has a black vinyl-clad plinth. I'm interested in hearing from any of you who have bought any of the new line of CS turntables from Dual. I'm also having a hard time deciding between the belt drive CS 518 at $799 or the direct drive CS 618Q at $1299. The most desirable Dual changers are the 1219 and 1229. Next would be the 1218. There are few dogs of the 1200 series, the plastic tonearm 1215 is the only one which comes to mind. The CS single play machines usually have fans but I don't really know which ones are best. The 1009 and 1019 were the best 1000 series machines. .
