The end of an era. As reported by Simple Flying at the time, 2019 marked the final non-ER Boeing 777-300 retirement at Dubai-based UAE flag carrier Emirates. This brought the curtain down on two decades of operational history with the type, which had begun back in 1999. The retirements were part of a fleet modernization program at Emirates.
The aircraft will be operated by Emirates' cargo division: Emirates SkyCargo. For now, a total of 10 Boeing 777-300ERs will have their economy seating removed to allow for 17 tonnes or 132 cubic metres of additional cargo capacity per flight on top. This is in addition to the 40-50 tonne cargo capacity in the belly hold.
The United Boeing 777 300er seat map shows that Polaris and Premium Plus passengers will have a personal 110V outlet for charging. Meanwhile, three seats in Economy Plus and Economy will share two outlets. The United 777 300er has WiFi with different subscription plans for passengers.
